I always wondered how the grapefruit got its name when it has nothing to do with the grape family and everything to do with the orange/citrus family?! Turns out after a little googling that the name comes from the manner in which the fruit grows i.e. in grape-like clusters on trees! And when they’re young, small and unripe, they look like a bunch of green grapes. Don’t know who came up with it but to me they look like lemons instead of grapes. I still think that this tangy fruit deserved its own unique name!
